Gonzaga (DC) Defeats Dillard High School in DC Classic Championship Game(FL)

Chris Lykes scored 30 points to lead Gonzaga (DC) to a 74-53 victory over Dillard (FL)on Sunday in the championship game at the 28th Gonzaga DC Classic Tournament.

With a 36-24 lead at the half, Gonzaga (DC) pulled ahead early in the game. Gonzaga (DC) cemented their lead in the third quarter, scoring 24 points. Gonzaga (DC) played an aggressive game, racking up 22 fouls.

Making 53% (8-for-15) of shots taken, Lykes had a great shooting game from the field, as well as outside the arc, making 67% (4-for-6) of threes attempted. From the line, Lykes made 100% (10-for-10) of free throws attempted. Prentiss Hubb (17 points), Michael Meyers (8 points), and Myles Dread (6 points) each had multiple three-pointers. Also contributing for Gonzaga (DC) were Terrance Williams(6 points) and Anwar Gill (6 points).

Leading the scoring for Dillard was Jordan Wright with 19 points, followed by Stanley Garner with 10 and Raiquan Gray, who got in early foul trouble, with 8.

Lykes was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
