The Team

In 2014-2015 St. Andrew’s Episcopal School finished with a 21-6 record and won the Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament. At one point during the 2014-2015 season the St. Andrew’s basketball team was ranked as high as #12 in the Washington Post Top 20 boys basketball rankings. St. Andrew’s graduated senior starters Marcus Adkison (Shepherd University), Myles Law (Ohio Wesleyan University) and Jacob White (West Virginia Wesleyan University) in 2014-2015. Adkison is seeing significant time as a freshman and was named the MVP of Shepherd University’s opening basketball tournament.

St. Andrew’s returns 7 players from last seasons varsity roster including two starters. Skilled senior starter 6’7 senior forward, Tyler Stewart, has signed a letter of intent to play at Binghamton University next season. Senior starter 6’9 George Muresan will provide quality minutes at the forward position with his ability to play with his back to the basket and stretch the floor with his shooting ability. Varsity returners 6’1 senior crafty guard Austin Allen and 6’1 high I.Q. junior guard Chris Smalls will handle the backcourt responsibilities. Athletic and defensive play maker, 6’7 forward Anthony Duruji will provide play making ability on both offense and defense. 6’2 guard/forward Dominic Doyle will provide offensive versatility and shooting ability from the outside. 6’2 senior forward Ryan Brown rounds out the returners and provides critical senior leadership and toughness.

Added depth will be provided from young and upcoming players, Heru Bligen a 6’1 speedy defensive guard and 6’2 athletic junior forward Alex Smith (division 1 lacrosse recruit).

Other players to watch are talented guards Enzo Bascon and Tino Nywata in addition to forwards Marcus and Malcolm Parker.

“The St. Andrew’s community is honored to be apart of the Gonzaga D.C Classic and would like to thank the Gonzaga High School Father’s Club, Tournament Committee, coach Turner and his staff for this wonderful opportunity”, said St. Andrew’s head coach Kevin Jones.
