Key for the Cardinals this year are junior guard Joe Toussaint (6-0) with 15.0 ppg and 6.0 apg, senior guard and Quinnipiac commit Tyrese Williams (6-3) with 15.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg, senior forward Terry Dawkins (6-3) with 12.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg, senior guard Jontai Williams (6-0) with 13.0 ppg and 4.0 apg, junior center/forward Adam Cisse (6-9) with 6.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg and senior guard Terrence Reaves (6-1) with 6.0 ppg. Senior Michael Richardson and Freshman Jaylen Murray will also be major contributors this year. The School

Founded in 1941, as an independent, all-boys, Catholic High School, Cardinal Hayes has been the starting point for academic success and excellence in education for over 30,000 alumni who have earned the pride and prestige of being a “Hayesman.”  Located on the Grand Concourse in the South Bronx, Cardinal Hayes is just eight blocks from Yankee Stadium. Hayes was built in the Art Deco style on a strong foundation with the stone and earth removed during the digging of the New York City subway tunnels. The school’s mission is to inspire culturally diverse young men through spiritual growth and a rigorous collegiate preparatory program of academics, extra-curricular activities, and personal discipline to become responsible citizens. Now in its eighth decade, Cardinal Hayes continues to accept the challenges of providing a Catholic education in the poorest Congressional District of the United States Congress by emphasizing academic excellence, sound moral teachings, and instilling a strong sense of leadership in its students.  After 76 years, Cardinal Hayes High School is and promises to remain a vibrant beacon of Catholic education in the South Bronx and its surrounding area for decades to come. Numerous notable alumni include four bishops, and countless priests and religious brothers, as well as television personality Regis Philbin, film maker Martin Scorsese, Don Imus Show producer Bernard McGuirk, heart valve co-inventor Manny Villafana, Frank Sinatra show and movie producer Bob Kiernan, astronaut Mario Runco, Jr., AFL-CIO President John Sweeney, National Football League player Willie Colon and National Basketball Association players Jamal Mashburn, Kevin Loughery, Dermie O’Connell, and Gerry Ward.
